Then hard line is mounted to the last ebrake guide, 18" SS soft line goes from here to the caliper. Here's the hard line exiting e-brake cable tube, then into some hose that clips into existing e-brake guide ran hard line through factory ebrake tubes, mounted the tee to one of the old ebrake handle mounting holesĬarefully bent the lines by hand, then cut and flare Sorry for the shitty cell phone pictures. i was even able to mount the end of the hard lines to the ebrake guides near the diff that are also used for mounting the exhaust heat shield for the drive shaft. running the hard lines was actually a lot easier than expected, which is rare lol i literally re-used all of the factory e-brake cable guides. I was able to get some stuff done this week. had to order male -3AN to male 1/8NPT to adapt SS soft line to calipers and also ordered a 2psi residual pressure valve. it had almost everything i needed four 18 inch long -3an steel braided brake hose, 25 feet of 3/16 hard line, mounting tabs, lots of random fittings, tee's and AN to brake fitting adapters. i ended up ordering a custom brake line kit from jegs for $105. this job took a lot more thinking than work, that's for sure. but finally got all of the parts i needed. I removed the trailing arms since the caliper brackets for m3 require you to remove the hub from the rear trailing arm for installation. i will probably try that, i think mostly hard line is the way to go anyways.
Inline hydro e brake drivers#
One 24" and the other is a 36" since I had the T offset towards the drivers side.nice, i didnt even think about using one of the ebrake tunnels. I used a -3 Male x 3 T fitting and a -3an SS braided line for each side to the calipers. I dont remember the fitting size on the hand brake (I use an ASD unit as well) I ran 3/16th hardline through the factory ebrake cable tube to about the differential converted that end of the hardline to a female -3an fitting. I'd like to type out what I did for mine but I don't really remember all the specific sizes and adapters I used so bear with me.
Inline hydro e brake how to#
Super helpful info here, but for e30 and not super detailed on how to mount the hard line's, etc. some people recommend a 2psi residual pressure valve, which i will also be installing. from there, it will be a combination of more hard line, custom mounts and stainless soft line to finish it off. I got the -3AN adapter for the ebrake so i will be ordering -3AN stainless steel soft line to go from ebrake to hard line mounted on the trans tunnel, hard line will go all the way out to rear sub frame somewhere and then tee off to custom chassis mounts just before the rear trailing arms. Wilwood Dynapro 120-9703 calipers - $320(with pads) Secondary caliper brackets from Lee at - $200

I'm going to post all the information i've found and i'll post how I end up installing it. i work at a shop and can DIY, so i thought id make a thread for it here.ĭoes anyone have any information they can share? im looking for any info related to running and mounting the hard lines. i have found tons of info on how to splice into oem brake line, but i want a secondary sysytem to be able to foot brake and ebrake at the same time.
Inline hydro e brake install#
I am getting ready to install a secondary hydrualic e brake on my e36 m3 drift car, but have not been able to find very much information on how to do it.
